The first picture shows the nine foot soaring eagle patina and ready to be based .The second picture showing the patina on the panther at the Bronze Services Of Loveland in Loveland Co.. The foundry has outdone themselves on the patina with these pieces . And the last picture is of Sam Jones .
Picture # 1 shows The Four Souls finished in polychrome patina. Picture number # 2 shows Bradley Jr. with the finished Life-size and one half Deer clan sculpture . Picture #3 shows a close up of our fine excessive detail on the deer. This Deer and the Otter will be the final bronze clans additions added to the "Four Souls" .
We have called in Carla Knight from Colorado for the molding process for the Deer
and the Otter clan sculptures. Pictures #1, 2, & 3 show the steps involved in molding.
Picture one sectioning off your model . Number 2 shows the Deer with several coats of rubber.
Finally picture number three showing the removal of the mother plaster molds. If you would
like to see Sam Jones monumental sculpture in person, this sculpture will be on display at
the eleventh annual Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale along with many of our table top sculptures.
At Owens field, south of Loveland High school and Benson Park in Loveland, Colorado Aug. 9,10, & 11th.
We have just got the largest commission yet . It will be 28 feet long by 20 feet high by 10 feet deep. The pictures below show the first three steps . Picture # 1 is a two dimentional sketch of the idea . Picture # 2 a three dimentional stick figure . And the last is the rough three dimentional clay Marquette .
July 5 The next three pictures show the stick figure. The first stage of sculpting is the stick figure . It has to fit into the sculpture without showing. Measurements are essential for making a proper fit of all pieces. Then the steel armature is wrapped with wire mash and packed with foam.
Picture # 1 showing Brad sculpting over a aluminum frame of horns with Aves sculpting compound . We do this with a lot of pieces so that they can be taken on and off with out being messed up. Picture # 2 and 3 showing the first layer of clay .
As you can see this new project is so huge that we had to construct a 35' high studio. we did not let it interfere with our work as we worked on the small marquetes in the old studio. Picture #3 shows three times life-size monumental sculpture in our climate controlled studio. This is so great after working on a hundred degree concrete slab in the sun for the past three weeks.
