August 4 ,2001. As
you can see I didn't get the top of the eagle done like I said last
week, but I'm sure I'll get it finished this week. We went to the Jr.
Museum this past week to get someup close and live modeling done .As
Brad Jr. worked by the bear's pen ,the bear suddenly lunged at the
model and I caught it on camera.I was not sure if he wanted to play
or eat the little one but it would be bad either way . The last
picture shows the maquette of the bear after the trip to the
museum.

I've often wondered if
anyone ever reads these captions .Well my insurance co. did and
canceled my insurance . Now I know .Bronze Services Of Codorado sent
me these pictures of the progress of the Four Souls .The first
picture is a section of the wind clan in wax , sprued and vented .
The second is the same but with ceramic shell . And the last is the
bronze head of Sam Jones after the shell is removed . I've been asked
why we go all the way to Colorado for our molding and casting. . WEll
Loveland Colorado has become the bronze capitol of the world and when
you compete with the best you have to use the best.

Feathers ,feathers
,feathers ,That's about it for
this week. The only exciting thing about this week was my dog killed a
cotton mouth in the studio ,shook him in three pieces .I thought she
had good sense,Now I know that her brain would roll around in a red
bugs head like a BB in a box car .But I'm greatful .Picture #1 and #2
show two weeks work on the eagle feathers.Brad Jr. cut the belly out
of the bear . That's the last part of the original bear.

The pictures below posted
Sept. 15 , 2001 .As you can see in picture number one ,we had half a
large oak tree fall on the studi..That's going to cost a couple of
days work removing ,repairing .and cleaning up . With all that's
going on in New York ,Washington and the world today I'm not even
going to complain .Meanwhile work continues on the Eagle as in
picture number two where we're sculpting with a grinder .And Brad
